Certificate In Personal Leadership Development

Worcester State College offers a unique opportunity to experienced and emerging leaders of Central Massachusetts: the Certificate in Personal Leadership Development. The program helps you develop your own leadership style and skills through an individualized approach. This is Personal Leadership Development that focuses on the heart and character as well as the head.

The 33 hour, six session WSC certificate program in Personal Leadership Development connects participants with leaders and leadership educators who will share a variety of points of view about how you can achieve success in your area of leadership interest, whether it be for profit, nonprofit or political arenas. Common themes include a focus on helping you develop those leadership values, skills and goals that are uniquely your own.

Young Professionals Program

During summers, we bring you The Young Professionals Program for young people entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grades next fall. The Young Professionals Program is a 2–week summer day camp held on Worcester State College’s campus. The program offers two weeks of fun, inspiration, and imagination that will strengthen core academic, personal, and creative skills.

CareerPath

As a student in a selected Worcester State program, you can gain access to a powerful new tool for making the most of your professional history and goals: Worcester State’s CareerPath. Free for alumni, continuing ed and graduate students and Center for Business and Industry program participants, CareerPath path is an online service that provides a range of career management, professional exploration and marketing tools. In many ways, CareerPath is similar to working with a personal career coach. You examine your work history – analyzing and presenting it in the most concrete, complete and advantageous format.

With CareerPath you can translate your educational and professional accomplishments and goals into a visual marketing plan. In essence, it replaces the traditional résumé with a visual diary of your entire professional history. By entering information in specific categories – career, project, roles, skills and knowledge views – you create and develop an extensive portrait of your expertise, experience, skills, objectives and much more. Your identity is protected at all times, and you maintain complete control over your visibility in the system.

Worcester Reads

The Graduate program at Worcester State added in spring, 2005, the Worcester Reads Program, in which graduate and post-baccalaureate students at the College can choose to participate. The Worcester Reads Program is offered to further enhance the graduate level experience with the College, and to encourage strengthened community engagement. The Program is robust, intellectually stimulating, and personally invigorating. Graduate level students are its special audience because they are smart and because they are influential. Students are encouraged to read the semester’s selection, talk about with their friends, neighbors, colleagues, and classmates, and to attend ancillary programming about each semester’s book selection. Graduate Scholarships

During the 30th anniversary year of The Graduate School, many of its alumni answered the call to establish the first Graduate School alumni scholarship Fund. For the 2006-2007 Academic Year, we are pleased to award the first round of The Graduate School alumni Scholarships.

The Graduate School alumni Scholarships will be awarded on an annual basis to students matriculated and enrolled in one of the College’s graduate degree programs. The number of scholarships awarded will be basd on the performance of the Graduate School Alumni Scholarship Fund.

During the inaugural year of the scholarship, the Graduate School will offer 6 scholarships of $600.

Online Education

Worcester State partners with two online education training programs for non-credit offerings.

Gatlin Education Services offers programs such as networking and Microsoft certification, healthcase, ComTIA certification, and internet/graphic and web design programs.

Ed2Go provides non-credit courses that allow you to update skills, discover new talents or chart career paths at your own pace and convenience.
